Social Housing in Ouédo

As part of the projects included in the Government’s Action Programme, the primary servicing work on the social housing construction site at Ouèdo in the Abomey-Calavi commune was launched in December 2018. This housing programme is built around an innovative model that substantially eases the conditions of access to housing.

Started in July 2020 after the site had been serviced, construction work on social and economic housing at Ouèdo in the Abomey-Calavi commune has almost been completed. A total of 1,735 homes, comprising lots 2 and 3 of the project, are to be built on the site over a period of eighteen (18) months, complete with all amenities (supermarkets, car parks, green spaces, etc.). This is the largest social housing project to have been built in Benin since 1960.
